Thank you to all the Jefferson families who contributed to the Staff Appreciation Week activities this week!  Thank you for the gift cards, breakfast items, desserts, beverages, time, etc.!  We couldn’t have done it without you.  Special shout-out to Lisa Rich, Amy Kroll, Kim Zimmer-Janeczko, and Jane Labby for organizing the gift card donations, breakfast and lunch.

Our next JPAC meeting will be Tuesday, May 9th at noon in the Library.  Everyone is invited to attend.

HELP WANTED:   We have a few positions open for next year.  If you are interested in any of these positions, please contact Lisa Benter Rich (at lisabenterrich@gmail.com).  We are (I think) a great group of committed parents who strive for drama-free meetings once a month.  Incoming sixth grade parents are welcome (and encouraged) to consider one of these positions.  It’s a great way to get involved in the school.

  • Assistant/Co-Chair.  Lisa’s youngest son will be an eighth grader next year, so we are looking for someone who is interested in learning the ropes and moving to the chair position for the 2018-19 school year.
  • Book Fair Coordinator.  The Scholastic Book Fair is held twice a year (fall and spring).  Coordinator is responsible for working with Scholastic for scheduling fair and organizing volunteers to work at the fair.
  • Treasurer.  Monica’s child is moving on to high school and we need a new treasurer next year.Jefferson Spirit Wear (please note that the logo on all items will be the new Jefferson logo that is on the top of the order form.) Dow High Incoming 9th Grade Student Orientation  Attendance and the Attendance Hotline Reminders

Follow the green and gold arrows on the floor Wednesday night and don’t miss this great opportunity to help your child feel at home at Dow High!
  • Freshman orientation at Dow is coming up Wednesday, May 17th. The transition from middle school to high school can sometimes be a tough one, but the Charger Shoppe has everything your child needs to make the change exciting instead of hard. We have cookies, drinks, frozen yogurt, and awesome Charger gear including shirts, hoodies, sweatpants, stadium seats, mittens, and hats that will make your huskie feel like a charger.

Parents, please remember to call the absence hotline (923-5880 or 923-5873) to report your students’ absences. If you are calling after 10:00 AM, please call the office.

Please do not email absences, as they may not be recorded. If you notify teachers of absences, you also need to call the hotline.

If your student is only going to be absent for a partial day, you do not need to call the hotline, as we will take the information from the sign-in sheet when you sign your student in or out.
